Please note that John Eason (President), Sam Hribal (Vice President), and Don Krudop (Webmaster) will be using our civic league’s website email addresses for broadcast messages to the neighborhood. Please add the following addresses to you email address books so these messages don’t end up in your spam folder. .
The sign at the neighborhood entrance on Crossborough Road is jointly maintained by the Civic League and the Lake Smith Terrace Garden Club. For years the message on the sign, visible to outgoing traffic, has been updated by Garden Club members. It typically announcies civic league and garden club activities and other seasonal information. We have been advised by the garden club that the persons changing the messages have reached the time they are no longer comfortable climbing the six-foot ladder to change the letters. Therefore, we are seeking a resident, or residents, preferably living close to the Crossborough entrance, to assume the task of updating the sign’s message. We have all the letters and supplies needed to this task. If you would like to help by assuming this responsibility, please contact John Eason at president@lhgcl.org.
If you live in the vicinity of Ewell Road and Ferry Plantation Road, please instruct your children to stay off the split-rail fence by the storm drain canal. We have another broken rail that has been referred to the city for repair. There have been reports of children seen climbing on the fence.
Mark your calendar! We are inviting all residents (Civic League members and non-members) to a cookout in the Haygood Point Neighborhood Park on Sunday afternoon, June 11, 2023, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
We will serve hot-dogs, hamburgers, chips, and bottled water. Come out and spend time under the shade trees with your neighbors in the relaxed atmosphere of the neighborhood park. All you may want to bring is a chair. This will be a people event, so please leave Fido at home.
