Presentation - Back Bay Wildlife Refuge by Erica Ryder

The Virginia Beach Chorale, the resort city's premier choral ensemble, presents "Americana - Songs of America" on Saturday, May 16, 2026, 7:00 pm at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in the Virginia Beach Town Center. For more info, click here.

The Civic League will award its annual scholarship to a deserving 2026 graduating high school senior in May. 

Selection is based on educational achievement, community involvement, and communication skills.

The scholarship recipient will be announced at the May General Meeting. Click here to learn more about eligibility requirements, instructions, and application.

Deadline for applications is April 30, 2026.

If you live in the vicinity of Ewell Road and Ferry Plantation Road, please instruct your children to stay off the split-rail fence by the storm drain canal. We have another broken rail that has been referred to the city for repair. There have been reports of children seen climbing on the fence.

The next edition of "Lake Smith Ripples" should be in your hands by mid-January.
