The Virginia Beach Chorale will hold auditions for the Fall 2025 concert season in Sunday, August 24, starting at 2:00 p.m., at Thalia United Methodist Church. For information, click here.
The Civic League will award its annual scholarship to a deserving 2025 graduating high school senior in May.
This year’s scholarship has been increased to $1500.
Selection is based on educational achievement, community involvement, and communication skills.
The scholarship recipient will be announced at the May General Meeting. Click here to learn more about eligibility requirements, instructions, and application.
Deadline for applications was April 30, 2025.

If you live in the vicinity of Ewell Road and Ferry Plantation Road, please instruct your children to stay off the split-rail fence by the storm drain canal. We have another broken rail that has been referred to the city for repair. There have been reports of children seen climbing on the fence.

Virginia Beach Emergency Communications & Citizen Services is launching the Beach Report, a new text alert service that will help you plan your next beach day. Residents and visitors can opt-in to receive status updates on beach conditions. The Beach Report will notify you of the following types of conditions: Red flags due to rough surf and rip currents. Beach closures due to water quality concerns, or electrical storms. Text BEACH to 67283 to enroll in this FREE service.
